Environmental Management Plan

A comprehensive Environmental Management Plan (EMP) was developed before the dredging began on the Channel Deepening Project. The EMP set the environmental safeguards required to project Port Phillip Bay's assets during the project.

Now, even after the project works are finished, an EMP is in place to help protect the bay's ecosystems.

Previous versions of the Environmental Management Plan

The construction-phase of the Channel Deepening Project was completed in November 2009. As required by the Environmental Management Plan (EMP), a Close-out Report has been prepared following the completion of construction activities.

This Close-out Report provides a summary of project outcomes, project activities, total volumes dredged, conformance with Project Delivery Standards, environmental monitoring results and consultation activities.
