Melbourne Cruise Ship Committee

The Melbourne Cruise Ship Committee (MCSC) is made up of representatives from a wide range of government and private sector companies, associations and authorities. It provides advice on the implementation of the Victorian Cruise Shipping Strategy to ensure Victoria's vision for the industry is achieved. The committee's key responsibility is steering the progress of Victoria's cruise shipping industry.

The MCSC is chaired and convened by Port of Melbourne Corporation and includes the following organisations:

Port of Melbourne Corporation
Responsible for provision and management of the cruise ship infrastructure at Station Pier and the management of commercial shipping movement, navigation channels and aids in Port of Melbourne waters.

Tourism Victoria
Developing and implementing marketing plans and initiatives and implementing the "meet and greet" program at Station Pier.

Shipping agents
Appointed by the shipping line as their port representative and responsible for all matters relating to the ship's visit.

Shore excursion operators
Appointed by the cruise line to provide a shore excursion program and passenger transfer program.

City of Melbourne
Responsible for the provision of visitor information services and volunteer services at the International Passenger Terminal at Station Pier.

Yarra Trams
Responsible for public transport services and customer services.

Victorian Taxi Directorate
Responsible for ensuring taxi services are provided for cruise ship passengers at Station Pier.

Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service
