Station Pier services
Station Pier is Victoria's premier sea passenger terminal,
accommodating visiting cruise ships, navy ships and tall ships.

Berths
Station Pier has three berths available for
cruise ships, with a total length of 713 metres. These are available for
negotiation as dedicated berths for home-porting ships during the cruise
season. A fourth berth is the permanent home of the Spirit of
Tasmania, TT-Line’s car, passenger and freight ferry service between
Melbourne and Devonport, Tasmania.
The pier is a finger-pier structure with four operating berths (two on each
side). Vehicle access is via a central roadway. The total wharf length
is 933 metres with individual berths as follows:

Services and facilities:
Port / shipping services
Shipping
services include pilotage, towage,
mooring/unmooring.
Port services include ship security,
bunkering, garbage and waste disposal, emergency services and access to
repair facilities.
Provedoring / stores - fresh produce and export markets are within an
easy five kilometres of the pier and can service a home-porting or
visiting cruise ship at short notice.
Fresh water - Melbourne’s water is reputed to be the cleanest and best
drinking water of any Australian city. Online watering
facilities are available at all berths.
Sewage
Automated sewage
facilities are available to accommodate cruise ships with direct
access and conveniences into the local network.
Pier security
Station Pier provides full
customs and quarantine security. The pier can be physically isolated, thus
offering security and privacy to ships and their passengers.
Corporate centre and office
facilities
The international passenger terminal has a corporate
centre and office facilities for use during cruise ship visits and
home-porting.
Port charges
Port charges are
competitive, with negotiable rates available for home-porting ships.
Itineraries
The Melbourne Cruise Ship Committee can provide advice on itineraries. The committee
provides a coordinated and structured process for visiting cruise ships
and also advises on itineraries for south-eastern Australian
destinations.

A seamless baggage-handling process
for cruise passengers for the transfer of luggage between Tullamarine
Airport and Station Pier can be arranged by ground handlers /
shore excursion operators..
Airport / station pier transfers
The
cruise terminal at Station Pier is only 15 minutes from Melbourne’s city
centre, directly linked by a tram service (Route 109). Melbourne’s
international airport (Tullamarine) is less than 20 minutes from the
cruise ship terminal. Taxi services from the pier are provided on cruise
ship visit days.
