Shipping and its associated industries provide exciting teaching and learning opportunities, but most of the activities within the port are not accessible to the general public.
The Port Education Centre (Port Ed) gives a unique opportunity to see and learn about the activities of the Port of Melbourne and the vital role it plays in the Victorian economy. See our Port Education brochure (PDF, 970 kb) for education information.
Located in the heart of the port on the Yarra River, opposite the port's international container terminal, Port Ed gives a window to the world of traded goods and commodities central to our everyday lives.
Primarily an education facility, the centre is also available for community and maritime groups as a meeting venue.
