The Port of Melbourne - an overview
The Port of Melbourne is Australia’s largest container and general cargo port.
It provides shipping services to 300 ports around the world - more ships, more often than any other Australian port. It is vital for our Victorian and Australian manufacturers and producers who export to the world.
It is a city port, located next to Melbourne's CBD with berths on the Yarra River, at Williamstown and at Station Pier in Port Melbourne. It is serviced by more than 100 nautical miles of shipping channels and fairways all the way from the Heads, the entrance to Port Phillip Bay.
Port of Melbourne Corporation
