Results of Newport pipeline spill investigations - 8 May
2008
Following the discovery of fuel contamination
in a small area of the Newportpipeline corridor announced by
Portof Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) on 31 March, the
first results of ongoing analysis indicate the contamination is not the
result of a recent spill or leak.

Entrance draught restrictions lifted early - 29 April
2008
Draught restrictions for commercial shipping through the
Entrance lifted one month earlier than expected, with PoMC reinstating the
existing operational parameters for commercial vessels transiting the
Entrance.

Safety reminder for boaters this long weekend - 24 April
2008
With dredging operations now underway in the Yarra River
and the Entrance to Port Phillip Bay as part of the Channel Deepening
Project, Port of Melbourne Corporation is reminding boaters to stay safe
on the water by steering clear of dredging equipment.

Confined dredging to begin in the Yarra River - 18 April
2008
Dredging works within designated sections of the Yarra
River as part of the Channel Deepening Project are scheduled to begin on
Monday 21 April.

2008
Portof MelbourneCorporation has appointed Captain David
Shennan to the role of General Manager, Marine and Navigational Services,
thereby assuming the statutory role of Harbour Master for the Portof

Port detects fuel contamination in Newport pipeline corridor -

As part of its routine assessment under its
Contaminated Land Management Program, Port of Melbourne Corporation
has detected a small area of land which has been impacted by fuel
contamination, possibly caused by a fuel spill or leak.

decision - 28 March 2008
Portof Melbourne Corporation today
welcomed the decision by the Federal Court of Australia to dismiss an
application filed by opponents of the Channel Deepening Project.

The luxury cruise ship, Queen Victoria,
will visit Melbourne tomorrow (21 February) as the first Australian port
of call on its maiden round-the-world voyage.

Channel Deepening Project to proceed in the morning - 7
February 2008
Port of MelbourneCorporation will proceed with
the Channel Deepening Project tomorrow (8 February 2008).
The dredge
vessel, Queen of the Netherlands, is currently scheduled to depart
SouthWharf at 4 am, and commence dredging in South Channel at
approximately 7 am tomorrow. (This timing is subject to weather,
scheduling and other operational matters that will be determined closer to
the expected departure time.)

The Queen of the Netherlands, one of
